Royce Johnson Memorial Park is named after a gentleman who was a very active citizen in the community of Decatur. For years he was the president of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce and headed up the annual Decatur BBQ. Everyone who worked with him on this project really enjoyed working with him.
In honor of him, and his contributions to this community, this park was added in memory of him and his love for the community.
Being a part of the community and making a contribution, whether small or big, is what makes a community come together in unity and it becomes a strong and great place to live.
